According to two reports this evening, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S4 at an event in New York City on March 14. This date had previously been rumored, but both AllThingsD and Reuters are citing company reps of Samsung that have confirmed the date. Samsung’s mobile chief JK Shin has also told Edaily news that his company had multiple requests from U.S. carriers to announce the phone in the States after last year’s London unveiling of the Galaxy S3.
Rumors have suggested that we’ll see a 4.99″ FHD (1080p) display in the device, along with a Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor instead of Samsung’s own Octa Exynos. Other than that, the device is somewhat of a mystery, but we expect Samsung to show off some sort of innovative new software as they have done over the last year in both the GS3 and Note 2.
Well, folks, it looks like we’re getting the new Galaxy much earlier than we have in years past. I guess I have a plane ticket to book.
Excited? Predictions?
