Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Now Rumored for April Launch Under Codename “Altius”

According to a couple of reports this morning, the next-gen Samsung flagship phone could be announced in March during an “Unpacked” event with a launch happening shortly after in April. We’ll refer to the phone as the Galaxy S4, but as of now, that name is not necessarily official. One source claims that the Unpacked event will happen in the U.S. at Apple’s doorstep, while the other source is expecting London, New York, or even Korea. 

Outside of launch, SamMobile is reporting that the phone has a new codename of “Altius” and a model number of GT-I9500. Samsung will likely deliver the phone in two color options:  white and black. There will be a removable 2600mAh battery with a wireless charging kit sold separately.

The rest of the rumored specs at this point include a 4.99″ FHD Super AMOLED display, Exynos 5 Octa processor, Mali-T658 GPU, 2GB RAM, 13MP camera, and Android 4.2.1.

Last, the image above is being tossed around as an “official” press image, but we’re not buying into that.
