According to a report out of CNET, Samsung and Google have teamed up to create a 10.1″ Nexus tablet. The device will sport a super high-resolution display of 2560×1600, which equals 299 ppi (pixels per inch). For those keeping track, that’s a higher pixel density than the new iPad, which sits at 254 ppi. This will be a high-end tablet, according to their source Richard Shim, an analyst at NPD DisplaySearch. Shim says that “supply chain indications” have helped him draw this conclusion. I hate to say it, but DigiTimes lists “supply chain sources” on a daily basis and we balk at them all of the time. Let’s hope this guy is legit.
Shim also mentioned that Google will start manufacturing a $99 tablet in December.
Funny, we tossed out Samsung and the Nexus 10 earlier this morning. Quite the coincidence.
