T-Mobile and MetroPCS are not even finished celebrating their agreement to merge from yesterday and now another carrier wants in. Sprint, who tried to acquire MetroPCS for themselves earlier this year, is rumored to make another bid on MetroPCS. This new offer would obviously outweigh the one T-Mobile currently has, but other than that we don’t know much.
Now, T-Mobile’s current deal is for $1.5 billion to acquire MetroPCS. Sprint is prepared to pay well over that, but T-Mobile is reportedly not going to back down. This could turn into a bidding war between the two companies who are moving for position behind AT&T and Verizon. We will have to wait and see how this turns out, but things could get expensive here soon for both companies.
