Anyone else get instantly nauseous whenever someone brings up the “task killer FTW!” topic? Those in favor of such apps will be pleased to see that Google has come out and sort of backed the logic of using them in a round about way.
Both the co-founder and CEO have blatantly blamed poorly created apps for the cause of our Android battery woes which would leave me to believe that for now, a task killer might come in handy should you be cruising around the city with one of those ridiculous Borat Soundboard apps on your device.
Google co-founder Larry Page had this to say…
“I have noticed there are a few people who have phones where there is software running in the background that just sort of exhausts the battery quickly. If you are not getting a day, there is something wrong.”
Google CEO Eric Schmidt also weighed in…
“The primary consumer of the battery life on these phones is the transmit/receive circuit. So tuning that and obviously figuring out a way to not use too much of that extends your battery life,” added Google CEO Eric Schmidt.
I can’t say that I disagree with their logic. Your thoughts?
