Google Buys Additional 1,000+ IBM Patents to Help Defend Android

Thought that Google was going to settle on the 17,000+ patents it received in its acquisition of Motorola?  Not a chance.  According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the Mountain View giant acquired an additional 1,000 patents from IBM to help strengthen its portfolio even further.  A spokesperson for Google confirmed the transaction, but did not dive into financial details or which patents in particular would included in the deal.
