T-Mobile’s $50 Home Internet Expands to 450 Cities

T-Mobile claims that it is throwing a lifeline to a bunch of communities that it says AT&T is abandoning. By “lifeline,” they mean that they are going to start offering their home internet service that works over LTE and costs $50 per month.

In an announcement this week, T-Mobile shared plans to fire up T-Mobile Home Internet in 450 cities and towns in rural America, because connectivity is more important than ever and many of these places may not have many (if any) broadband choices.

T-Mobile Home Internet is a pretty easy-to-understand concept. Again, it costs $50/mo (with autopay), allows for self-installation by customers, there are $0 hardware fees or leases for the service, taxes and fees are included in the $50 price, and no contracts are involved. T-Mobile says there are no data caps, but do know that there is throttling during times of congestion.

Should you subscribe to T-Mo Home Internet, you should expect speeds around 25Mbps with peaks hitting 50Mbps. By no means is that fast, but look, if you don’t have any other options, it’ll certainly give you home internet that can get things done.

The new cities in towns are located all over Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, Virginia, and more.
