Hulu + Live TV Gets Price Increase to $54.99/Month on December 18

Starting December 18, new subscribers for Hulu + Live TV will see increased pricing, up $10 to $54.99/month from its current price of $44.99/month. Existing subscribers will see these changes reflected in their subsequent billing cycle after December 18.

Here’s a portion of what Hulu posted today in its blog announcing the price increase.

Today, we’re letting customers know that the monthly base price of Hulu + Live TV will increase to $54.99, beginning December 18.  The new price better reflects the substantial value of Hulu + Live TV and allows us to continue offering all of the popular live news, sports and entertainment programming included in the plan.

With most of the live tv streaming services upping prices (or just shutting down), the moral of of the story seems to be that it’s very expensive for companies to offer this and there’s no choice but to make users pay more.
