Samsung re-announced the Galaxy Fold tonight, their first foldable phone that was put on hold a few months back after numerous early reviews ran into hardware issues. After months of tweaks to the design, the Fold is back and will go up for purchase in the US in the “coming weeks.” If you are in Korea, you’ll be able to buy it September 6.

Once available in the US, customers will be able to purchase the Galaxy Fold in Cosmos Black or Space Silver. Gone are the wild blue and gold colors it seems.

Samsung says that they spent the past few months refining hardware (design and construction) and also the after-purchase experience you get. Samsung is launching something called Galaxy Fold Premier Service that gives you access to Samsung experts and support over the phone at any time of any day.

We don’t know if they’ve changed the pricing, but since they didn’t mention it tonight, we’ll assume the Galaxy Fold still costs close to $2,000.

  • UPDATE: Reuters is reporting that the price in Korea will be 2.398 million won, which converts to roughly $2,000 USD. The phone was previously priced at $1,980, so we should prepare for no price drop after all of the fixes.
