New details regarding the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL have surfaced via 9to5 Google, with additional features and specs being reported for Google’s upcoming smartphones.
According to 9to5, both the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will feature OLED displays with refresh rates of up to 90Hz, the same refresh rate as the OnePlus 7 Pro. Google is apparently calling this feature Smooth Display. For sizing, it’s now reported that Pixel 4 will sport a 5.7″ FHD+ display, while the larger Pixel 4 XL will have a 6.3″ QHD+ display.
For those concerned about RAM, it appears Google is done with 4GB. Yippee! This year, both the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will offer 6GB RAM, which is still a limited amount compared to other flagship devices currently on the market.
Battery sizes were also discussed in the report. As detailed, the Pixel 4 will feature a 2,800mAh battery and the Pixel 4 XL will have a 3,700mAh battery. Compared to the Pixel 3’s 2,915mAh battery and the 3 XL’s 3,430mAh battery, Google is going a bit smaller for the 4 and slightly larger for the 4 XL.
On the backside, it’s detailed that Google is utilizing a 12MP shooter with phase-detect auto-focus, plus a 16MP telephoto lens. Additionally, 9to5 reports that Google may be cooking up a “DSLR-like attachment” (Edit: This may instead be DLSR-like software rather than an actual hardware attachment.) for the Pixel 4 that could be a purchasable accessory for the device.
Other reported features are to include stereo speakers, which people were worried about because of all of the tech being thrown into the phone’s forehead, a Titan M security module (also came in the Pixel 3 and 3 XL), as well as what could be the Next-Gen Google Assistant that Google showcased during I/O this year.
We’re getting closer, Google Pixel fans.
