2.1 Update Slowing Down Droids?

The following video comparing the performance of Motorola Droids running 2.0.1 and 2.1 seems to be all the rage today, so we figured we should share.  Now, I actually ran the test myself (as you’ll see above) and averaged about 10FPS more than the video of 2.1 demonstrates, but it still doesn’t hover anywhere near the 60FPS that the 2.0.1 Droid is averaging.  Is the 2.1 update really bogging us all down?

I should also point out that I ran the test with live wallpapers and HelixLauncher running in the background as well as the stock launcher sans live wallpapers.  Both tests provided similar results.
