Essential Phone Gets November Security Patch, Support for Audio Adapter HD

Essential, always timely with its updates, is pushing out the newly released November security patch to device owners.

That’s great news, but it’s not really what we’re excited about. Also mentioned in the changelog is “Support for Essential Audio Adapter HD.” That adapter is the still unreleased module owners have been waiting some time for, and with this update, it has to be right around the corner.

To recap, the Audio Adapter HD is a high-res ESS Sabre DAC with hardware MQA rendering, and an audiophile-grade amp that slaps onto the back of an Essential Phone. With this machined titanium adapter attached, you should be able to plug-in your high-end headphones to get a top-tier audio experience.
