Essential Begins Pushing Android 9 Pie Update to Essential Phone

Moments after Google made the announcement that Android 9 is called Pie and that it’s shipping out to Pixel owners today, Essential announced that it too is making Pie available to owners of Essential Phone today.

In a tweet, Essential says it is proud to bring Android 9 Pie to Essential Phone the same day it’s released. We’re also quite proud of this, but it reminds us that Essential isn’t planning a new phone and that continues to bum us out.
