If you weren’t a fan of the Lenovo Smart Display that released last week and were interested in other offerings, like the one that JBL showed off back at CES, your time has come (almost). The JBL Link View is now up for pre-order!
JBL’s version of a smart display will cost $249.95 and they plan to ship it by September 3. I know, that seems like a long pre-order window, but that’s where we are.
How does the JBL Link View compare to the Lenovo Smart Display? Being a company who cares about sound, JBL has upped the speaker game over Lenovo’s option. The Link View has “legendary sound” with a 2×2″ drive setup at 2x10W. The Lenovo Smart Display has a single 2″ 10W speaker (with passive tweeters).
The JBL Link View has an 8″ “HD” display, which JBL hasn’t specified the resolution on. We’re going to assume it’s 720p. It also has a 5MP camera, WiFi, and Bluetooth, like Lenovo’s devices. JBL’s Link View does have one important edge, though – splash resistance. It’s rated IPX4, so it should stop water in the kitchen, plus JBL says it’ll be easy to clean.
Again, you can pre-order now and see your device in a month,
