Always On Display for Galaxy S8, Note 8 Updated to Support GIFs

An update for Always On Display on the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, and Galaxy Note 8 includes GIF support, just as it is on the new Galaxy S9 and S9+.

With this, users can select from a number of fancy preloaded GIF animations to play on their Always On Display, but it appears you should also be able to use whatever GIF you want that’s loaded onto your device. Memelords, today is your day.

To start utilizing this on your newly supported phone, head into the Always On Display settings and select the option that shows a “+” symbol for adding your own photo. From there, find the perfect GIF, then apply it.
