Samsung will own MWC 2018, but Sony has the event we’re looking forward to the most. I know that sounds weird, it’s just that we know what Samsung will bring. It’ll be good. It’ll be Samsung too. For Sony, 2018 is looking like the year they finally try and switch it up some by refreshing their mobile line, and that’s exciting.
Thanks to a leak earlier today, we caught our first looks at the phones that Sony is sure to unveil: the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact. The XZ2 appears to pack all of the specs and then some, as well as a refreshed design with a bubbly glass finish, and smaller bezels. It looks pretty great, especially when you consider that Sony has shipped the same phone for 5 or 6 or more years.
What time is Sony’s MWC 2018 event?
Sony will host an MWC 2018 press event on February 26 that you can tune into. It’s kicking off on Monday at a ridiculously early 2:30AM Eastern hour, so that’s actually Sunday night at 11:30PM for those out here on the west coast. Again, Sony’s MWC event is at 2:30AM Eastern on February 26 (11:30PM Pacific, February 25).
Sony will live stream the event through their own site, though they tend to provide some form of a stream we can embed. Should they do that, we’ll update this post on Sunday to let you watch it here.
