Finally, and I feel that word should be emphasized, finally, Sling TV now supports Chromecast. Sling TV is the TV streaming service that urges folks to “Take Back TV.” When you subscribe, you get access to a basic list of channels in HD available for streaming, and the more you pay per month, the more channels you get.
The service launched with no Chromecast support, but now, thanks to an update, Chromecast dongle owners can stream the service directly to their HDTV without the need of a computer or console device. When Sling TV first launched, it seemed many potential customers were going to hold off until Chromecast support was available, and now, it has come.
To celebrate, owners of a Chromecast can get a free 2-month trial to the service. If you don’t have a subscription or a Chromecast, you can pre-pay for three months of service, and receive a free Chromecast. And you should note, these are 2nd Gen Chromecast devices, not 1st Gen.
The basic plan on Sling TV runs $20 a month, giving access to the top channels like ESPN, AMC, A&E, TNT, HISTORY, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, and Adult Swim.
