US Cellular announced the lowering of prices for Shared Connect plans this morning, bringing more value for the prices paid by wireless customers. As we have seen from AT&T, US Cellular has decreased the prices on its 1, 3, 6, 8, and 20GB plans, and customers on the 2GB plan will now get 3GB of high-speed data at the same price.
If you are on a Shared plan with 8GB of data, the company is offering a $30 discount off monthly connection charges, meaning those who choose a Shared Connect plan with at least 8GB of data can add a smartphone line for just $10 a month. To sum it up, a family of four can share 8GB of data for just $120 a month.
“These new price plans offer consumers and businesses unbeatable value no matter their data usage,” said Joe Settimi, vice president of marketing for U.S. Cellular.
In addition to the lowered plans, U.S. Cellular is still paying off customers’ old contracts (up to $350 per line), when switching to a Shared Connect plan. Although, you will need to choose the equipment installment option. Anyone who ports their number from another carrier and sends in their final bill with the early termination fee on it will receive a prepaid debit card for that amount.

U.S. CELLULAR LOWERING PRICES ON POPULAR SHARED CONNECT PLANS
Company offering better price plans than AT&T and Verizon starting at two lines
CHICAGO (Feb. 24, 2015) – U.S. Cellular (NYSE: USM) announced today that it is providing more value for customers who choose installment pricing on the company’s Shared Connect Plans. U.S. Cellular has decreased the prices on its 1, 3, 6, 8 and 20 GB data plans, and customers on the 2 GB plan can now get 3 GB of data for the same price.
The company has expanded its $30 discount off monthly connection charges to its 8 GB plan, so customers who choose a Shared Connect plan of at least 8 GB with installment pricing can add a smartphone for only $10 per month. This means a family of four can have unlimited voice and messaging and share 8 GB of data for $120 per month, $25 less than Verizon. Customers on 6 GB plans or less can add a line for an additional $20 per month.
“At U.S. Cellular, we are constantly striving to provide the best customer experience by offering national coverage and a high-quality network along with flexible plans that meet a variety of customer needs,” said Joe Settimi, vice president of marketing for U.S. Cellular. “These new price plans offer consumers and businesses unbeatable value no matter their data usage.”
With U.S. Cellular’s $0 down installment pricing, qualified customers pay tax on a new device at the point of sale, and then make 20 monthly payments that are conveniently added to their wireless bill. Customers can upgrade this device in as little as 12 months if they trade it in for the latest model. They can also choose to pay off the full balance of their device anytime they want.
In addition to these value-packed plans, U.S. Cellular is continuing to pay off customers’ old contracts, up to $350 per line, when they switch to a Shared Connect plan and choose the equipment installment option. Anyone who ports their number from another carrier and sends in their final bill with the early termination fee on it will receive a prepaid debit card for that amount.
New Retail Installment Contract, Shared Connect Plan and credit approval required. Financing terms are zero down, zero APR; 24 monthly payments. ETF Promo: Valid for up to four Consumer lines and 25 Business lines. Must port in current number to U.S. Cellular. Customer will be reimbursed for the ETF reflected on the final bill up to $350 per line.
