Sprint Nexus 6 Now Available From Best Buy for $199 on Contract

The Nexus 6 is largely still impossible to find. You have been able to pre-order from AT&T and Sprint for less than a week, but most have had no chance at buying the unlocked model from Google Play or Motorola’s shop. And even if you were lucky enough to order through those last two stores, the chances of your device having arrived already are pretty slim. Hopefully, as we approach what we are assuming is the device’s official launch of today or tomorrow, we should start to see it become more accessible.

Take for example a new Best Buy listing, which shows the Nexus 6 for Sprint available for $199 with a new 2-year contract. That’s $100 cheaper than if you were to buy it through Sprint directly. You can even buy it off-contract for $699, which isn’t exactly cheap, but is an option if you need the device now and don’t want Sprint service.

And speaking of off-contract without Sprint service, I wish I could confirm that if you buy any of these carrier models that they will be fully unlocked for use on any network. This Sprint model (if you want to call it that) is still carrying the model number of the Americas version of the Nexus 6, which is XT1103. But, Sprint is referring to the version they are selling as the XT1103KIT. Does the “KIT” part refer to the batch that Sprint plans to sell which has been locked to their network in some way? We just don’t know. We still don’t know if AT&T will do the same either. Once pre-order devices start arriving, we should hopefully know much more.

Any takers on the Sprint deal through Best Buy?
