HTC is back with another virtual doorbuster this week, sure to delight the precious few buyers who manage to take advantage, and potentially infuriate everyone else. Beginning at 9 a.m. Pacific (12 p.m. Eastern), the company will knock the price of all One M8 variants down to as little as $299 for its second Hot Deal of the season. That represents savings of $350.
As was the case with last week’s promotion, supplies are extremely constrained. Only the first 200 customers will be able to buy an M8 for the advertised $299, after which the price will jump to $499 for the next 300 buyers. The deal is scheduled to end at 9 p.m. Pacific, or while supplies last.
Last Tuesday’s Hot Deal saw Nexus 9 tablets on sale for $199. The deeply discounted allotment promptly sold out, prompting a backlash on social media. HTC America President Jason Mackenzie apologized, admitting that technical issues with the company’s website played a part and promising a smoother experience going forward.
