Months of anticipation may culminate in a blog post tomorrow. According to a report from Forbes, Google is preparing to officially unveil the HTC Volantis and Motorola Shamu – aka the Nexus 9 and Nexus 6 – sometime during Wednesday of this week. The company is expected to announce details regarding pre-ordering.
According to the publication’s source, the Nexus 9 will be the first device to run Android L, implying the tablet will launch before the Nexus 6. It will debut in two configurations: a model with 16GB of storage for $399, and a version with double the storage (32GB) and LTE connectivity for $499. Pre-orders are expected to go live October 17, with an anticipated retail date of November 3.
The specifications are in line with leaks. The Nexus 9 will sport a 8.9-inch 2048 x 1440 display, a “brushed aluminum” frame, two cameras (8MP rear-facing, 3MP front-facing), a 64-bit Tegra K1 processor, and stereo BoomSound speakers.
A foldable magnetic tablet case will reportedly be revealed alongside the new devices.
So, anyone planning on pre-ordering a Nexus 9 this week if everything pans out?
