Didn’t think Chromecast could get any better? Think again. Next week, Google will begin rolling out an update – build 16664 – that includes bug fixes, improvements, and a tweak to the way Chromecast handles when you change audio volume.
The volume feature is probably the most notable enhancement. After the update, Chromecast will retain the volume level you set even after it has been powered down, which hopefully means less messing with your television volume and more enjoying the myriad of Cast-enabled apps out there.
What’s New
- Bug fixes and stability improvements
- Chromecast audio volume level is retained across sessions
- Improved IPv6 support
- Improved DNS robustness
When the update arrives, Chromecast will download and install it automatically. Until then, why not try streaming a live YouTube video?
