Chrome Wants to Emojify the Internet, Now Available on Android

The best April Fools’ pranks from Google are the ones that you can actually participate in. (Anyone remember 8-bit Google Maps?) Thanks to today’s shenanigans, you can add Emoji translate for Chrome to the short list of awesome, over-the-top, pranks that are best enjoyed with user participation.

As the Chrome team explains it, using Chrome on Android or iOS today will allow you to translate the web “using efficient and emotive illustrations, instead of cumbersome text.” Damn, text. So cumbersome. Like the brilliant Egyptians, your world can be read through pictures and symbols that cut out all of the fluff.

To check out how Chrome translates the web into emoji, be sure you have the latest version of Chrome (beta works too). Tap the menu button and choose “Translate to Emoji.”
