The Wikipad, a 7″ gaming tablet that fits comfortably into a controller dock, now has a lower price for consumers. Previously on sale for $249, the device has been lowered to $199, coming with new software to help gamers play even more titles.
New Wikipad units will come shipped with a controller mapper, allowing users to select exactly which control setup they would like. If you don’t want your reload button to be “X,” and instead want it be to be “Y,” you can do so. This functionality has been brought to other devices of this nature, most notably the NVIDIA SHIELD.
The Wikipad is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor (ouch), 1GB of RAM (double ouch), features a 7″ HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 (triple ouch), 16GB of internal storage, and comes running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (quadruple ouch). As for the specs, and the $199 price tag, it might be hard to get excited about this product.
