ISIS Mobile Wallet Adds American Express Serve to Limited List of Cards

Isis Mobile Wallet – the joint venture mobile payment system of AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile – hasn’t exactly won over our hearts since its official launch earlier this month. With limited card support, we aren’t finding a way to even get started with the service. Since Isis only supports Chase and American Express cards, adding your everyday bank card or Visa isn’t possible at the moment. Well, it sort of is now, in a round-about way. 

Isis announced this morning that it now supports American Express Serve. Serve acts in a way like a re-loadable prepaid card, or the new Google Wallet card if you will, as it can be loaded up with cash from almost any debit or credit card, and bank account. Once given cash, Serve can be used at anywhere that accepts American Express.

We’re actually users of Serve here at DL because it allows us easy expense management with cash rather than credit, and the power to manage sub-accounts for a handful of users. To see it added to Isis is certainly a step in the right direction for the fledgling mobile payment service.
