Pixel Phones Get a Sweet New Vibratin’, Ringin’ Feature

Pixel Vibrate First

Google quietly rolled out a new feature to Pixel phones this week that gives you more flexibility with the reaction your phone has to incoming calls. Think of it as the perfect combo between vibration and ringing.

Previously referred to as “Ramping Ringer,” this new option is listed as “Vibrate first then ring gradually.” As that description implies, this new setting tells your phone to vibrate first, giving you a chance to get to it before the noisy ringtone kicks in. Kind of cool, right?

You’ll find the setting for it in Settings>Sound>Vibrate for calls. Within that area, you should still see the “Never vibrate” and “Always vibrate” options, along with this new one.

We’re seeing the option on Pixel 4 phones and XDA, who discovered this, said they also saw it on Pixel 3. Let us know if you have it!

We like new features.
