Nest Wifi, a followup to Google WiFi, was made official at this morning’s Made By Google event. It’s available for pre-order this morning, technically starting at $169 for the router and $149 for additional points.
Like Google WiFi, this is a mesh system, with a base router that connects to additional points, boosting WiFi connectivity inside of your house. According to Google, the base router is good for up to 2200 square feet, while a 2-pack is able to cover 3800 square feet. As for speeds, Google says Nest WiFi can deliver up to 2x the speeds of Google WiFi.
Nest WiFi has Google Assistant built-in, as well as a speaker for playing music and controlling your smart home. Google describes as a 2-in-1 device, because it features the same speaker system as the new Nest Mini. This inclusion makes Nest WiFi a serious upgrade over the original Google WiFi.
If you want to start off with multiple points, the price is $269 (router + point). A 3-pack will cost you $349. General availability begins November 4.
