Amazon has an updated Fire HD 10 tablet up for pre-order this week, with availability beginning October 30. Priced at only $149, these Fire tablets are somewhat tempting, simply because they’re designed to be media consumption devices and they do that rather well.
Over the previous Fire HD 10 device, Amazon explains that the 2019 model offers 30% faster processing speeds, longer battery life (12 hours now with standard usage), as well as new software features. As Android users, the only downside you should notice immediately is that there is no immediate access to Google Play. Instead, you’ll be limited to Amazon’s Appstore, but there are workarounds for that situation.
Other specs include a 10.1″ FHD display, 32GB or 64GB of built-in storage, microSD support, 2GB RAM, front and rear cameras, USB C, and dual-band WiFi.
