It has been a full two years since Essential introduced the Essential Phone and yet it’s still receiving monthly Android security updates on the same day that Google pushes them to Pixel phones. I know that Essential doesn’t do much to Android, that they have a single phone to deal with, and that these updates probably aren’t difficult for them to do, but it’s still impressive.
Today, with the October Android 10 patch out, Essential continued their streak of matching Google. The update arrives as build QP1A.190711.148 and should be available to unlocked, non-carrier-tied Essential Phones right away.
