Over the next few weeks, you’ll notice a couple of improvements to the way Chrome lets you handle multiple tabs, plus sharing a tab from one device to another will be easier than ever.
Through a blog post today, Google announced that a new tab grid experience is coming to those of us on mobile who constantly have multiple tabs open. This new interface will let you more easily see the content of the tabs you have open, unlike the current stacked tab overview.
Additionally, the grid will soon let you stack tabs on top of each other to make tab groups. That way, if you are planning a vacation and have a bunch of related tabs open, you’ll be able to group them for more efficient browsing. Simply drag and drop them on top of each other from within the grid layout. Cool, right?
As for improved sharing, Chrome on mobile is getting a share option that lets you share Chrome to other devices. So when you decide you want to share a current page on mobile to a computer or Chromebook or tablet, you’ll be able to do that without sending yourself an email or instant message with the link. This is a Pushbullet feature that I’ve used on the daily for years, so it’s cool to see it work natively now.
Google says to expect all of this new functionality over the next few weeks and into the fall.
