Pocket Casts, easily one of the best podcast apps available for Android, just made all of its premium features free to use.

The reason for doing this? To better align with the open-access philosophy of our public media ownership. Pocket Casts wants to stand for free and open access — not walled gardens — and make a premium listening experience available to everyone for their news and entertainment.
For the power podcast listeners among you, Pocket Casts Plus, a new premium membership that costs $1/month or $10/year, offers the following.
- Desktop apps including macOS, Windows and web apps
- Cloud storage for custom audio and video files
- Exclusive app icons and themes
