LG has been teasing a multi-screen product of some sort for a couple of weeks leading up to IFA and now that product is official. The LG G8X ThinQ is here with an accessory that gives it a 2-screen experience.
As you can see from that picture above, the LG G8X docks within a case that has a second screen. When you attach to the case, that second screen, which matches the phone’s 6.4″ display, can fire up to give you more screen real estate to consume content from. The Dual Screen accessory has a hinge that lets you view any angle, plus there is a 2.1″ cover display that’ll show you notifications when you close the case up.
As for the phone, it has a Snapdragon 855, 6.4″ FHD OLED display, in-display fingerprint reader, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage (with SD slot), 4000mAh battery, 32-bit DAC, IP68 water and dust resistance, and Android 9 Pie. For cameras, you are looking at a dual camera setup made up of a 12MP standard shooter (f/1.8) and a 13MP super wide lens (f/2.4).
For those keeping track, we now have the regular LG G8 ThinQ, a G8S ThinQ, and now this G8X ThinQ. What’s the difference between them all or how would you choose one over the other? I have no idea.
The G8X is expected to arrive in Q4 in “key” markets.
