The Moto Z2 Force on Verizon was scheduled to receive its update to Android Pie on August 1. The update was important beyond new Pie features because it was supposed to bring with it support for Motorola’s 5G Moto Mod and give a 2-year old phone access to Verizon’s 5G towers. Motorola now says 5G Moto Mod support is arriving this week for Z2 Force owners.
There isn’t much else to share here, other than to be on the lookout for that Pie update if you haven’t received it already. Also, you’ll need the 5G Moto Mod (buy) in order to connect to 5G from Verizon, plus you’ll need to be in a city that actually has 5G. The full list of Verizon 5G cities is right here.
Oh, if you own the Moto Z2 Force, but not the Verizon model, you aren’t getting the update to Pie or 5G Moto Mod support.
