Google is giving Google Home owners access to the free version of YouTube Music today. With this access, you’ll be able to ask your Google Home to play music from Google’s newest half-baked music service, though it’ll include ads from time to time.
To get started with YouTube Music on Google Home, you’ll need to open the Google Home app, tap on Services, and then Music. By then choosing YouTube Music as your default, voice commands to fire up some beats will default to YouTube Music.
Again, this is the free version of YouTube Music, so you’ll hear ads. If you don’t want to hear ads, YouTube Premium is available for $9.99/mo.
The freeness of YouTube Music is first available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Japan, Netherlands, and Austria.
