TAG Heuer announced a new version of its Connected Modular 45 watch today, one designed specifically for the golfers of the world. The Connected Modular 45 “Golf Edition” is here to help you track rounds as you play them.
According to TAG Heuer, they were the “first brand to develop and commercialize a trend-setting, fully functional smartwatch” with the original TAG Heuer Connected. That’s an absurd statement, but our review does give that original high marks. In 2017, they followed up with the Modular 45 model that could be pieced together as some sort of customizable watch. Today, we’re getting the golf version of that.
The Connected Modular 45 “Golf Edition” is exactly like the 45mm version of the 2017 model. You’ve got a 45mm case, 1.39″ (400×400) display, Intel processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage, GPS, NFC, sapphire glass, 5ATM water resistance, and 410mAh battery. This one differs in that it says “GOLF EDITION” on its bezel, is a mixture of black PVD titanium and black ceramic, has green accents here and there, and comes with a special white and black rubber strap.
Where TAG hopes you’ll find this 2017 watch interesting is in the companion app that they’ve released. The TAG Heuer Golf app pairs with your watch to show you distances on a golf course, provide 2D and 3D course mapping, record scores for up to 4 players, and show “informative” stats after a round. The golf app has maps for more than 39,000 courses.
When purchased, the Connected Modular 45 “Golf Edition” comes with a set of commemorative balls and a fancy box.
