Verizon RCS Features on Pixel 3 Disappearing Today (Updated)

The new RCS features that arrived on Verizon Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones a few weeks back are disappearing from phones this afternoon.

Verizon customer service doesn’t seem to know what’s going on, but reports are coming in from all over. Not only are there multiple reddit threads with Pixel 3 owners no longer having access to the set of “Chat” RCS features, they are gone from our own Verizon Pixel 3 too.

• UPDATE: Verizon got back to us and said that Google updated RCS on some level today, which caused a problem with a limited number of users. That should have been corrected by now or will be shortly for those affected. Let us know in the comments if you don’t see RCS pop back up by the end of the day.

Here is a running Verizon support thread on Twitter that we’ll be paying attention to. We’ll check with Verizon as well.
