Mobvoi Finally Lets Wear OS Users Choose Google Fit Instead of Their Own Random App

Ticwatch Google Fit

One of the biggest changes to Wear OS 2.0 was the overhaul to the layout from the home screen watch face. It gave you 4 distinct swipes that got you into areas with purposes. Swipe down and you get into quick settings shortcuts. Swipe up and you have the new, smaller notifications. Swipe right and the Google Assistant is there for you. Swipe left and Google Fit is there to tell you about your fitness goals for the day. Well, on all watches not made by Mobvoi.

You see, when Mobvoi began pushing out the 2.0 update to its line of watches that include the Ticwatch E, S, and Pro, they replaced the Google Fit panel with their own random TicHealth fitness service. People were (rightfully) pissed.

After complaining from the minute the update dropped until today, it appears that Wear OS users have won. Mobvoi is now giving users the choice between their own fitness service and Google Fit. To change to Google Fit, simply swipe over to the Ticwatch fitness panel, long press, and then choose Google Fit (see above).

For a platform supposedly controlled 100% by Google, this should have never happened to begin with. Or maybe better yet, Google probably should give people a choice over their fitness service that displays just to the right of the home screen, as this now appears to do.
