The latest addition to Google Maps list of features benefits those who have opted to lessen their carbon footprint. When you fire up Google Maps today, you’ll be able to search for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations!
Searching for “ev charging stations” will bring up a map view of nearby stations, let you scroll through a list off them, and then tap on individual stations to find out more info. The listings might mention businesses where the station is located, which types of ports and charging speeds are available, and how many ports there are. Users can add photos and reviews too, so you’ll know just what to look for, plus each listing should have a link for more info on the charger.
Google Maps supports charging station searches globally for Tesla and Chargepoint. In the US, they also support SemaConnect, EVgo, and Blink. UK searches will turn up Chargemaster and Pod Point.
EV station searches start rolling out today on mobile and will arrive on desktop in the “coming weeks.”
