After delivering its “best Q2 ever” and adding more postpaid phone customers than rivals, T-Mobile says that it has no plans to start charging you more for service. Unlike Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint, who have all tweaked, added to, or increased pricing of their unlimited plan line-ups in recent weeks, T-Mobile doesn’t see a need to.
Speaking with CNET following their Q2 earnings report, T-Mobile CFO Braxton Carter said that the company is “not pursuing a monetization path” and that the “benefits of creating more subscribers outweigh the shorter term benefit of tweaking (average revenue per user).”
That means T-Mobile ONE likely won’t change much in the near future. That’s fine, since it’s one of the better values in unlimited, but Verizon and AT&T have come close to matching T-Mobile with their current offers. Does T-Mobile still standout like has in recent years? It must be since they keep adding more customers than their competitors.
Anything about T-Mobile’s plans you’d like to see change?
