Amazon Prime Day kicks off here in a couple of hours and runs for a good 36 hours or so. If you have been wanting to needlessly spend money in the middle of the summer on stuff, the next day and a half were made for you. Just don’t forget that in order to enjoy Prime Day, you have to be an Amazon Prime member.
Since there are around 100 million Amazon Prime members at this point and you are on a tech site like Droid Life, I’d imagine that most of you are already members. Still, if you aren’t, Amazon is always hosting a free trial that typically gets you the first month for free. That will at least get you Prime Day deals.

UPDATE: Some deals are already live! Amazon dropped prices on almost all of its own devices, some up to 50%.
What’s included in an Amazon Prime membership? The biggest deal for those of us without patience, is the free 2-day shipping on most of the stuff we buy. But memberships also include access to Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service, the option to use Prime Now to get orders (or food) within a couple of hours, use of Amazon Music, exclusive Prime deals here and there, and as of recently, special deals at Whole Foods.
If you do sign-up for the free trial, you will need to enter in a valid credit card. However, you can cancel before that month ends to avoid being charged anything.
