Essential, along with its MQA audio announcement, has unveiled their first adapter since that original 360 camera. This summer, they’ll release the Audio Adapter HD, a mod that attaches to the Essential Phone’s pins to deliver high quality audio.
According to a blog post from Essential, the Audio Adapter HD is machined from titanium, features a high-res ESS Sabre DAC with hardware MQA rendering, and an audiophile-grade amp for use with your high-impedance headphones. It also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack for use with all headphones, sans USB-C adapter.
As Essential notes, with this adapter, you can listen to music while charging your phone. Oh, thanks Essential! Had you included a headphone jack, that wouldn’t have been a selling point. We get it.
We don’t know pricing, only that it’ll arrive this summer.
Wait, the Essential Phone will be a year old at that point. How long does Essential plan on selling their original, issue-plagued phone?
