In an upcoming software update for the Xbox One, support for digital assistants like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa will be included. For those wanting to be able to control their Xbox One by voice, this is a big introduction.
According to a screenshot shared by Windows Central, there will simply be a “Digital assistants” option added to the Preferences section inside of Xbox settings. In that section, you’ll be able to “Enable digital assistants,” giving Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or Cortana the opportunity to (potentially) control your Xbox.
From there, you’ll have to open Google Assistant or Alexa to add an Xbox One skill and fully connect the two. After that’s done, well, you’ll be able to do…something. A list of features isn’t currently known.
Should it start rolling out, we’ll let you know!
