YouTube TV picked up a new feature today called Voice Remote. As the name suggests, you can now control YouTube TV on your phone with only your voice (and a tap of a single button).
The command list is pretty extensive too, with controls that not only let you search for content, but ones that let pause, fast forward, rewind, and adjust volume. You can even tell YouTube TV to Cast, record a show, watch a specific sports league, or find content based on actors’ names, if they are kid-friendly, etc.
Here are a couple of screenshots that show some of the commands I just mentioned.
To get started, you should be prompted to enable Voice Remote in YouTube TV the next time you open it. If not, head into Settings and look for the Voice Remote option to toggle it on.
Once done, you’ll simply look for the red Voice Remote button throughout the app to perform a voice search or command. At this time, there doesn’t appear to be a special hotword to get it to search, though.
