LG announced this week that it is bringing Google Assistant to its lineup of 2018 AI-enabled OLED and Super UHD televisions this month.
With this feature enabled, LG TV owners will be able to access all of the same information and controls that you can on your smartphone’s Assistant, such as turning on/off lights, checking on other appliances, as well as easy stuff like checking the weather.
This Google Assistant functionality is being placed directly alongside the existing webOS-based ThinQ smarts inside of these LG TVs, so owners should have no excuse when it comes to managing different aspects of their smart home right from the couch.
For exact timing, here’s what LG says.
LG OLED TVs and LG SUPER UHD TVs with ThinQ AI and the Google Assistant will be available in the United States starting in May with key markets in Europe and Asia to follow.
