Best Buy just dropped the US unlocked Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ price by $50 in one of the first major deals we’ve seen on these models. Originally priced at $719.99 and $839.99, you can get the smaller Galaxy S9 for $669.99 or the bigger Galaxy S9+ with dual cameras for $789.99. Couple those $50 discounts with the free $250 SmartThings Home Monitoring Kit they are including and you’ve got yourself a super deal.
That’s right, not only is Best Buy slashing $50 off each S9 and S9+, they are including a free Samsung SmartThings Home Monitoring Kit that typically runs $250. It includes the SmartThings Hub, two multipurpose sensors, a motion sensor, and a smart outlet.
There is one catch, though. The Best Buy $50-off price only works if you activate the phones right away on a carrier. At this time, it looks like they are forcing you to do that on Verizon. So yeah, that kind of sucks.
If you just want a straight up $50 price drop with no extra fuss, Amazon has you covered, only without the free SmartThings kit. As of this posting, Amazon has the Midnight Black version of the Galaxy S9+ dropped to the $789.99 price, but both the Lilac Purple and Coral Blue models are under $800 too, which is still $40 off. The regular Galaxy S9 has not dropped in price just yet at Amazon. If it does (and I’m sure it will), we’ll update this post.
Remember, these US unlocked Galaxy S9 phones work on all carriers, including Verizon. Our Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ review is right here.
