AT&T is Adding a New Prepaid Option, Upgrading Other Plans, Offering $10 Off for AutoPay

att unlimited plan price increase

If you are a part of AT&T Prepaid or were considering it, we’ve got some changes to discuss that will go into effect tomorrow. AT&T will add a new option to its prepaid line, upgrade its best unlimited plan, and offer bigger autopay discounts on select plans. They are also tweaking the prepaid multi-line discount system some.

Starting tomorrow, the new AT&T Prepaid plans line-up will look like this:

  • $35 – 1GB
  • $45 – 6GB
  • $50 – 8GB (new)
  • $65 – Unlimited
  • $85 – Unlimited

The new $50 plan that will be available starting tomorrow, April 19.

More data, bigger autopay discounts

As for other changes, AT&T is upgrading the amount of high-speed mobile hotspot data on its $85-unlimited plan to 10GB per month, from 6GB.

With autopay discounts, AT&T is now offering $10 discounts on the new $50 plan, as well as the $65-unlimited and $85-unlimited plans. So if you sign-up for any of those three upper-tier plans, you could pay $40 (8GB), $55 (unlimited), or $75 (unlimited). Why would you sign-up for the $45-6GB plan then, since it only gets a $5 discount for autopay? I have no idea.

Multi-line changes

If you are already in AT&T Prepaid and receive a multi-line discount, those prices are now changing on some tiers. For the 2nd line, you now get a $10 discount vs. the previous $5 discount. The other change comes in line 4, where the discount has been upped to $20 from $14.

You can sign-up for AT&T Prepaid right here.
