The stable version of Chrome is picking up an update to version 66, specifically 66.0.3359.106.
Inside, the only thing Google lists is the ability to find your stored passwords more easily, but thanks to the digging of others through Chromium, as well as changes we’ve noted from the Chrome 66 Beta, we know there is a bit more to Chrome 66.
The most major change is to the auto-play functionality for videos. With the update, you should no longer experience any auto-playing videos, which should include advertisements. Up to this point, whenever a video would start playing automatically, Chrome utilized resources that should now remain reserved until you decide to watch media.
Another change is something that was present in the beta, being the removal of Chrome Home and its replacement with Chrome Home Duplex. Duplex is a split bar system where the Chrome navigation bar sits up top, but the bottom of the browser features a new bar that can be swiped up to access history and your most-visited sites.
Google also included a tool for exporting your saved passwords into an CSV file. To do this, head into Advanced > Passwords and forms > Manage passwords > Saved Passwords menu. Once there, you’ll need to input your computer’s password, then you can download your passwords and input them wherever you would like.
Go grab that Chrome update.
