After telling us to get ready for the OnePlus 6 and confirming that it will indeed have a notch (with a chin), OnePlus has confirmed a few of the key specs for the phone too.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau took to the OnePlus forums today to talk about those specs and how they are creating the “best possible” phone for you through a “burdenless user experience” with no unnecessary features. He’s talking about a combination of processor, RAM, etc. and their simple OxygenOS skin (which we really like) that doesn’t mess with stock Android much, but still manages to enhance it just the right amount both in terms of features and performance. With the OnePlus 6, they’ll continue that by bringing all the power.
He also talked about a special R&D team at OnePlus called Team FSE (Fast, Stable, Efficient) that focuses “solely on maximizing the power of [their] flagship devices.” In other words, Team FSE attempts to bring the “fastest, and smoothest, user experience available.”
To get that experience, Lau said that the OnePlus 6 will run a Snapdragon 845 (shocker) and include up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. Since he went with “up to” there, that should mean a 6GB RAM option with 128GB or 64GB of storage available too. Yeah, I’d say that’s plenty of the right stuff to get us going.
If you have ever used a OnePlus phone, all of this performance talk should make a lot of sense. There are few phones that run Android as smoothly as a OnePlus phone. With the OnePlus 6, should expect nothing different.
