In addition to announcing that Sergio Buniac was taking over as chairman and president of Motorola, the Lenovo-owned brand subtly announced that its first phones of 2018 will be here next month. We’re days away from April, so be on the lookout.
Motorola said today that they are “excited for what 2018 (and beyond!) is going to bring [them] and look forward to sharing [their] first products of the year.” I’d imagine they are referring to the Moto E5 and Moto G6, since both have been circulating the tech news wire for weeks now.
The new Moto E5 will land in the budget bin of phones, while the Moto G6 will be a phone to seriously consider. The Moto G line has always been one of the best values in all of smartphones and the G6, from info we first exclusively revealed, shows no signs of changing that.
We should get a range of specs and models in the G6 line (G6, G6 Plus, and G6 Play), with big 18:9 displays, the newest processors from Qualcomm (Snapdragon 450, Snapdragon 630), big batteries (up to 4000mAh), dual cameras, design tweaks to look more premium, and prices that won’t offend. In past years, the Moto G line has hit Amazon with network connectivity on all carriers, as well as Prime models that drop in at even lower prices. That should happen again.
Any bets on Moto G6 pricing?
