Owners of a OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T can download the latest beta this week, bringing their phones up to Android 8.1, otherwise known OxygenOS Open Beta 6 for the OP5 and Open Beta 4 for the OP5T.
Besides the bump to Android 8.1 OnePlus is incorporating its new auto pick up gesture, which can answer an incoming call by raising the phone. On top of that, both phones will get the February Android security patch, new optimizations for the Gaming Mode, as well as OnePlus Switch.
If you want to try the latest beta, here’s how it works.
If you’re already opted into the Open Beta, you’ll receive this update as an OTA. If you’re not in the beta, you’ll need to flash the beta build, with full instructions and downloads here. Once in the beta, you’ll continue to receive updates from the beta. If you want to exit the beta, you’ll need to wipe your phone and install a public version.
Hurry up, OEMs, Android P is right around the corner!
